Distance Psychoanalytic Training (Asia**)

The Contemporary Freudian Society, Washington, DC Program offers a program for training international distance candidates located in Asia who cannot otherwise access analytic training. Classes, supervision, and training analysis can be online although we encourage in-person involvement when possible.

There are two modules of classes: one meets six Saturday mornings per semester (DC time – USA Eastern time) with our local in-person candidates using a hybrid meeting model (local students in classroom and distance candidates on Zoom or other on-line meeting platform). The second module of classes will be online for distance students at a time that fits the students’ schedules as a group. Please note that since our distance trainees are in Asia, the meeting times for this second module of classes will likely be in the evenings US Eastern time (mornings in Asia).

Upon graduation, distance students will be members of the CFS (and, provided their training has met IPA criteria, they will also be IPA members through CFS).

For information please contact Nancy R. Goodman at

We welcome your inquiries and involvement in training as we develop our Distance Training Program.

**Our current distance training program is for students in Asia.  We are currently piloting a program for students in other parts of the world who do not have an opportunity to train in their countries of residence.  We are not currently open to admissions for this training.  If you would be interested, and want to be placed on our mailing list for information on this potential program, please contact Institute Director, Dr. Debra Neumann.
