I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology as well as an MA in Theology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology/Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA in 1992. I completed a two year post-doc at The Traumatic Stress Institute in South Windsor CT in 1994. Since then I have been in private practice in northern California (until 2005) and in the Greater DC metro area (2005 - present). I maintain a home office in the Friendship Heights area. From June 2025-2028, I am serving as the CFS-DC Institute Director and in the past I have served on the Institute Chairs group as chair of our Program Committee, our Advisory Committee, and our Referral Service. I am a teaching, training and supervising analyst and am Board Certified in Psychoanalysis. I have participated in study groups with Kleinian analysts David Bell and Tito Piezancski, and for over four years in a Winnicott study group led by Lesley Caldwell focusing on The British Independent Tradition as well as Primitive Mental States. Concurrently I have been in group clinical consultation with Lesley Caldwell, as well as a consultation group for Advanced Clinicians. In 2024, I began attending the Regional Bion Symposium online study group. In June 2025 I began a three year term as Institute Director of the DC Division of CFS. I also write clinical/academic and creatively and in 2022 I graduated from the New Direction Writing Program.
