Marie A. Murphy MS, MSW, BCPsa is a supervising and training psychoanalyst in private practice in Bethesda, Maryland, specializing in the treatment of adults, older adolescents, and couples. She is currently a member of the faculty, and serves as Chair of the DC Ethics Committee. She has co-chaired a discussion group as a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association entitled: A Hall of Mirrors: Impingements on the Analytic Container. She has written and presented both theoretical and clinical work in the areas of primitive and unrepresented states of mind, early trauma, female development, and narcissistic disorders.
