My original training was in Psychiatry, and I was the Director of the Student Mental Health Clinic at the University of Virginia for ten years. While working there, I undertook psychoanalytic training at what was then the New York Freudian Institute and completed it in 1998. Now, I am a Training and Supervising Analyst for CFS, and affiliate with the DC group. Since 2022 I have been the chair of the Progression Committee of the DC Institute, and have also taught "Theoretical Controversies" to the fourth year candidates. I have a private practice in Charlottesville, VA.

My interests now are related to the intersections between poetry and psychoanalysis, and to Bionian and post-Bionian theoretical and clinical expansion of the psychoanalytic lens.
