Michael Krass, PhD
About
As a psychotherapist with expertise working with and understanding children and adolescents as well as adults, I understand that psychotherapy can be useful for people of all ages. My approach to therapy involves giving people the room to express themselves at the most authentic level possible. By respecting that every person is entirely unique, I approach therapy with an attitude of curiosity that I seek to evoke in those I see. It is an interest in - as opposed to a fear of - ourselves that leads to greater aliveness and ownership over one's thoughts, feelings, actions and reactions.
I offer individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. By providing an emotionally safe environment that allows for self expression and exploration, I facilitate gaining a deeper understanding of oneself - one's fears, worries, aspirations, hopes - in order to achieve a greater sense of vitality and purpose.
I have my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Derner Institute at Adelphi University and an MA in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College - Columbia University. I have been in practice for 23 years and I am licensed in both VA and DC.
