Millicent Ampadu, LCSW
I am a trained short-term therapist ( LCSW) who approached treatment from a solution focused lens. I focused on assessing patient from strength perceptive, acknowledging that each individual is an expert of their problem. Collaborating with the patient in figuring out the solution for a desired outcome. Throughout my experience, I have refined my practice values and interests to include harm reduction, empowerment, crisis intervention, and community- building among culturally diverse at-risk populations. I have also utilized diverse strategies, such as motivational interviewing, structural family theory, and CBT-to-crisis intervention and have adapted various clinical intervention modalities. My background includes over 7 years of experience in multiple mental health service delivery settings, including an inpatient unit, outpatient, a Mobile crisis unit, substance use, jail setting and a health home program for chronically ill patients.
I received my MSW from New York University, clinical focused track in 2013 and I am currently a candidate at Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the Contemporary Freudian Society.
