Steven L. Demby, PhD

I am a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist in practice for over twenty years in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and professional space for therapeutic work and to facilitate a sense of comfort and acceptance. My training has helped me to listen deeply and empathically. I am an active and engaged participant in the therapeutic relationship.
Many of the people I work with experience issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, low self-esteem, concerns about sexuality and gender identity, work/relationship problems, and issues of retirement and aging. I have an interest in working with artists experiencing creative blocks and other difficulties associated with a life in the arts.
I also deal with issues related to marriage, parenting, and separation and divorce. I will consider reduced fees when there are limited resources. I encourage you to call me for a free initial consultation and look forward to speaking with you.
